In 1996, Leslie Crockett, Jr. came to Plaquemine, LA with only the vision God gave him and 25 cents in his pockets. Knowing he was sent to this little church by the levee, the former pastor gave him the keys, title & deed to the church/land. Pastor Crockett was determined to do the work of the Lord so he set out on his mission & let nothing deter him.

Pastor Crockett remained faithful to God. Humbly, he lived in the church for four years. But because of his diligence & hope in God, he was never without anything; the Lord provided him with everything he needed! He preached to the benches when there were no members, but not once did he cease in prayer or praise of the vision God would soon bring to fruition! The Lord began to send people across the brother’s path who were hunger and thirsty for the Truth!

Before long, the little white church by the levee was filling up with people and he became our Pastor. Twenty-Five years later, Zion Field Evangelistic Ministries has hundreds of faithful members with as many regular visitors! Our church has grown in such a short time that the miraculous move could only be from God through the preaching & teaching of our pastor!

Pastor Crockett remains a humble man who loves the Lord and wants nothing more than to being a blessing in the lives of God’s people! He is not only a faithful pastor and minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but he is diligent in caring for people as God has called us to do! He visits & prays with people in nursing homes, hospitals, jails & those who may otherwise not come to church. He doesn’t care what church you attend, as long as Jesus Christ is your savior! He’s a wonderful friend and father figure to many of us and we are grateful that God sent a man after His own heart to be our shepherd!
